AM I the only person surprised to lean that the Walker Art Gallery does not have a single painting by Christopher Wood, the son of a doctor who worked in Knowsley and lived in Huyton?

Wood killed himself in 1930 at the age of 29. Eric Newton wrote: 'Those who have secretly arranged their list of British painters, from Hogarth onwards in order of merit, will probably have to re- write it...' after his death.
