WHILE I have no desire to join the latest political row in Liverpool ("Labour hits out at PO double standards", Post, March 16), the fact is that many sub-post offices in Liverpool and Wirral and the rest of the UK are facing a renewed threat to their survival.
The Government has recently decided not to renew the contract for the Post Office Card Account, having only introduced it in 2003. The card was designed to be a safer and more efficient way to pay pensions and benefits to people without a bank account.
