MY fellow farmers will be delighted to read more good news of money available for protection of the environment. The latest Welsh Assembly Government newsletter, Gwlad, known to some as the 'WAG Ag- rag', announces European Objective One support for a raft of measures under the Hiraethog Conservation and Landscape Project.
The total grant given to Conwy County Borough Council for this purpose was pounds 408, 205, aiming "to preserve the natural asset of the Hiraethog area and help the local economy in doing so". Those who own property on one side of the right ditch can enhance the landscape by applying for a 50% grant of up to pounds 10, 000 to repair a one-story traditional farm building provided it was built before 1918.See the full content of this document
