FORGET the swaggering swells in the House of Commons, the pomposity of TV pundits or the letters pages in newspapers, the true sounding boards of the nation's opinions are hospital waiting rooms, where nerves turn the usually timid into braying loons.

It is when most vulnerable that certain folk let rip with the most racist, xenophobic and clearly bonkers views about world matters: topics as varied as clan allegiances, creeds, holidays and grub.
