What's the attraction? A beautiful lake surrounded by forests and mountain peaks. Ideal for family walks and picnics with interesting forest trails and shingle beaches. Trail suitable for three wheeler buggies and most can accomodate pushchairs. A lakeside cafe with tea gardens and trout farm (openMarch 20 to October 31).

How do you get there? Through the Conwy Valley on the B5106 between Conwy and Betws-y- Coed. At the centre of Trefriw,opposite the Fairy Falls pub,go right coming from Conwy up a lane signposted Llanrhychwyn,Llyn Geirionydd,Llyn Crafnant and Llyn Cowlyd. Left at the fork and on,parallel with the Crafnant River,for about two miles. Designated parking in the woods, right,just before you reach the lake (parkingfee required,Map ref: SH 756 618).
