Summary
IT'S that time of year again: the Herald Gymraeg columnists have just been for our Christmas dinner, and this time, we went for Ty Mawr Tearoom in Rhyd Ddu, a tiny village between Caernarfon and Beddgelert.
The village is the birthplace of poet TH Parry-Williams, and Ty Mawr is a 200-year-old stone building on the main road. The first thing that hits you is the atmosphere - warm, welcoming, just like somebody's lounge. Every chair is different, all the place settings and mugs are mismatched, there are pictures, hats, plates, wooden ducks, clogs, flowers and sculptures everywhere, but it's not too cluttered.
