Just a week after being cruelly denied a curtain-raising win in a 1-1 draw at fancied Neath, Quay found themselves trailing after only 12 minutes to an own goal from Paul Dowdridge, who attempted to nod the ball back to keeper Terry McCormick, but only planted it in the back of the net.
