THE Government is abandoning its controversial online application system for junior doctors - but the parents of a Merseyside young medic still say it is "too little too late".

Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt announced that while all initial offers under round one of the recruitment system will be made to doctors in the next few weeks, the online Medical Training Application Service (MTAS) will no longer be used for the second round.
