Summary

AS THE deadline (April 5) for ISA savings in the 2006/7 financial year approaches, Newcastle BS offers a Cash ISA paying 6.10% fixed until October 20, 2008. This Fixed Rate Options ISA (6) offers unlimited transfers and is available until March 23, 2007 and is also available as a direct investment bond.

WOOLWICH claims to be launching the first ever "track and cap" mortgage to protect borrowers against economic uncertainty. It is guaranteed to stay at 0.23%above base rate (currently 5.48%) with no arrangement fees or early redemption charges, and offers the optional protection of a cap for first two years of the mortgage. However, that protection costs a one-off pounds 595 fee. Enquiries: 0845 607 1111.
