GARRY Houston had his highest finish of the 2007 European Tour season so far when he shared 14th place in the China Open in Shanghai with a one-over-par total of 285, to move up over 30 places in the Order of Merit.

He opened with a level-par 71 to share 15th place on the first day, just three off the pace, then he added a 73 on day two to slip to a share of 25th, nine behind the leaders. His one-under-par 70 on day three took him back up to a share of 16th and he closed with a level-par 71 to finish in a share of 14th place.
