France and Germany demand treaty to avoid any repeat of Euro crisis in future FRANCE and Germany yesterday demanded a new European Union treaty to ensure the Eurozone crisis never happens again.

French president Nicolas Sarkozy and German chancellor Angela Merkel both agreed that it could be either among the whole of the EU or just the 17 eurozone members, but it would automatically punish countries that use the euro if they break spending limits.
