THOUSANDS of people descended on the birthplace of Lewis Carroll this weekend. But this was no literary pilgrimage - it was the ninth Creamfields festival, moved from its usual location at Speke to its new home on the Daresbury Estate, Cheshire.
And the move was not the only change to the predominantly dance music-based event - a more varied line-up brought in a more diverse crowd. Local band The Zutons, made famous by their recent hits, Why Won't You Give Me Your Love and Valerie, made reference to the fact that they were not the usual type of act for Creamfields, and asked the audience not to be "afraid or offended" by their guitars. Glamorous electropop band Goldfrapp followed their set, and tried and tested live dance act Prodigy knew exactly how to get the crowd going with their high-energy performance.See the full content of this document
