CONCERN was raised by opposition AMs yesterday over a potential winter shortage of hospital places for patients after 229 more beds were cut in the NHS in Wales last year.
There are now 13,354 NHS beds in Wales, some 1,840, or 12%, fewer than 10 years ago. In North Wales, there were 2,895 available beds of which 2,203 on average were occupied (76.1%) for a time of 7.2 days per patient.See the full content of this document
