HOW much longer can the Government explain away its fruitless efforts in Afghanistan by saying it"s to protect Britain against terrorist attacks on its home soil? The three Islamic fanatics who were this week found guilty of conspiring to murder by detonating an incendiary device were all British born. They were from east London - one of them had even been to university, and by all accounts got up to all the usual student things.
