Summary
THE kestrel, most widespread and often most abundant of European birds of prey, is a familiar sight from trains and cars. It occupies a range of habitats such as coastal dunes, airfields, road verges and town centres - searching for prey.
It is our commonest falcon, with long, pointed wings and long tail, and is noted for its constant hovering. No other hawk has so perfected the art of stationary flight, and it is probably most often seen hovering alongside motor way and road verges.See the full content of this document
