Summary
I HAVE no issue rewarding individuals if they are hard working and competent, and it is important to provide attractive salary packages to retain talented staff.
What is especially galling is the proposed pay rise put forward for the Head of Social Services. Either nothing short of a miracle has been performed or memories are extremely short, but didn't a recent Joint Review in Wales report published in 2008 feature departmental failings? To jog a few memories the report concluded that "Gwynedd Council has made inadequate progress in developing modern social services...and its many good intentions since the last joint review in 2001 have not been delivered."See the full content of this document
