A MERSEYSIDE police officer mowed down and killed a Good Samaritan who was tending to victims of a motor way crash, a court heard yesterday.

PC Matthew Monaghan, 22, based at St Helens, was travelling at up to 70mph when he suddenly found all three lanes of the motor way blocked, it was alleged.
