WITHOUT doubt the Welsh Assembly grant of pounds 100,000 to the National Eisteddfod was much appreciated by eisteddfodwyr in general - without such aid many aspects of our national festival would have been in doubt.
What is unfortunate is that the Assembly rejected the Eisteddfod's need for pounds 180,000 established in a report by accountants three years ago, leaving the Eisteddfod's business board to fight yet again for more cash aid from various sources.See the full content of this document
