TIM Wright agrees that parallels can be drawn between being chief of a small Welsh company and helping to manage a team on a round- the-world racing yacht. He took the job at Wrexham-based Maelor Pharmaceuticals last October after a career break that allowed him to realise a lifelong dream to sail around the world.

He was a crew member on the Team Stelmar which between autumn 2004 and last summer sailed through the Southern Ocean and around Cape Horn as part of the Global Challenge event.
