MERGING four companies spread over a wide geographical area while running a vital public service was a challenge which Peter Strachan accepted readily. The Aberdeen-born Scot took up his duties as managing director of Arriva Trains Wales last December when the company took over the new all-Wales rail franchise.
Unlike Peter's homeland, Wales didn't get a separate rail franchise when the network was privatised a decade ago.
