Summary
A MAN accused of attempting to murder his ex-fiance with a metal pole said he was propositioned by a stranger on the day of the attack asking if he wanted him to intervene. Gary Rhodes said a mystery man called by his home unannounced and offered to "have a word" with Lynda Green, who'd left Rhodes and was staying with her sister.
Rhodes said the man, who allegedly spoke with a Midlands accent, did not give his name but claimed to be a mutual friend of a man called 'Foz.' Giving evidence at Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday, Rhodes, originally from Birmingham admitted he hadn't heard the name for around 20 years, and said: "The man said he'd heard I'd been having trouble with my partner, he said 'Do you want me to have a word?' I just told him no I didn't need him to do anything, I've got it all sorted out."See the full content of this document
