COUNCILLORS have made a dramatic U-turnover plans for a multi- million pound extreme sports centre at a West Lancashire beauty spot.

Environmentalists last night welcomed a unanimous decision to abandon a feasibility study into the pounds 30m-pounds 60mproject,at an extraordinary meeting of the district's overview and review committee. The ambitious project,proposed by Perthshire company Grayling Sports and Leisure, would have included seven sites under one roof,each offering a different extreme sport,like skiing, snowboardingor surfing.
