IT WOULD never have been allowed in my father's day. The hands on the big clock over the entrance to the magnificent old banking hall were frozen at six 0'clock .
Back when he worked in this building, that same clock was never allowed to be a minute out. These were the days when banks closed to the public at 3.30pm, and a glance at that clock from a cashier would stifle any argument from its customers.See the full content of this document
