HUNDREDS of black cabs brought large parts of the capital to a standstill as they protested against a scheme for minicabs.

Grant Davis, chairman of the London Cab Drivers Club, said a scheme by Westminster Council was promoting "illegal" minicab ranks in Leicester Square, taking work away from black cabs.
