A WELSH rugby fan whose camper van collided with a car killing a young woman was yesterday fined almost pounds 4,000Michael James Berry fell asleep at the wheel while driving in New Zealand . The 23- year-old, from Swansea, set out on a 700-mile trek across the country hours after stepping off a long-haul flight from London last month.Three hours into the journey he lost control of the camper van after apparently falling asleep at the wheel. The van veered into oncoming traffic, striking a car in which teenager Elizabeth Neels was travelling.

The 18-year-old died in hospital two days after the crash in the Waikato district of the country.
