NORTH Walians Rob Higgitt and Saul Nelson were last night celebrating a Powergen Cup reprieve after Wasps were kicked out of the competition for fielding a cup-tied player.

While the European champions' exit has sent shock waves through English rugby, it is good news for Rhyl's Nelson and Higgitt, who hails from Ruthin. The pair played for Bristol Shoguns in Sunday's sixth-round defeat to Wasps, whose place in the quarter-final draw will now be taken by the National League One leaders.
