ONLY weeks after unofficial statistics revealed that just 78% of Liverpool's 11-year-olds went to their parents' first-choice school this year, comes fresh evidence that parental choice is a myth.

This time, it concerns Wirral, where - according to Government figures - a similar percentage of children living on the peninsula, just 76.2%, will attend their first-picked secondary school in September.
