SEFTON chief executive Margaret Carney last night urged staff to accept a 5% pay cut - or see even more jobs lost.

The borough has to save pounds 44m in the coming year and a further pounds 20m in 2012 to 2013 to meet budgets savaged by Whitehall cuts.
