COUNCIL chiefs are to spend more than pounds 100,000 translating city road signs into Chinese to mark Liverpool's presence at the Shanghai Expo next month.

All road signs around the city centre will be remade to include Mandarin characters so that the high numbers of Chinese visitors expected to come to the city after the "World Business Olympics" will not get lost as they see the sights.
