THE threat of a players' strike at Runcorn has been averted.

The Linnets squad had threatened to boycott today's Conference North game against Worksop Town at Halton Stadium if wages owed to them were not paid. But new manager Steve Soley said: "We have come up with a solution that everyone is happy with and we are just looking to implement it now. Hopefully, it's sorted out. "
