Summary
WE first encountered Carluccio's in Canary Wharf. It was a frantic little place, where the City types breezed in for a skinny latte between buying up Colombia's coffee harvest and gambling the wealth of a banana republic on next week's tin price.
The relatively new Chester branch is altogether more civilised. It's bigger and has a relaxed atmosphere despite, in the early evening, being comfortably full. We had been before, if only to splash out on wonderful cheese, olives, bread and other delights from the delicatessen, though we were a little off-put by the uncovered cakes and pastries near the door, open to the dust and grime churned up by the hundreds who come in and out.See the full content of this document
