A CHESHIRE man wrongly convicted of the attempted murder of a nine-year-old boy almost three decades ago said his childhood had been 'stolen by the state'.

Speaking outside the Court of Appeal after having his 25-year conviction quashed yesterday, Paul Blackburn said a wrong had been put right - but he was finding life outside of prison 'very difficult'.
