MORE than 40 Merseyside veterans travelled to London to mark the 65th anniversary of D-Day.

The 44 veterans, who were from the Wirral and Chester branches of the Normandy Veterans' Association, travelled to Westminster Abbey yesterday where they joined Prime Minister Gordon Brown and defence secretary Bob Ainsworth for an evensong service.
