AROW has erupted over plans to change firefighters' shift patterns in North Wales in what brigade chiefs say is an attempt to improve response times. It follows that by reducing the time taken to reach a fire, more lives can be saved and the amount of serious injuries reduced.
The brigade has had considerable success in recent years in reducing fire deaths - yet the region's one fatality this year is one too many. To this end, fire chiefs can present compelling statistics to show when the majority of fires happen. . . and in turn when their resources should be concentrated to tackle them.See the full content of this document
