Summary
BECAUSE of rain, the clash of the two top clubs Hyde and Nantwich proved not to be the title decider expected in the ECB Premier Division of the Chapel Press Cheshire County League.
Nantwich held the upper hand throughout, piling up a massive 306- 6 declared highlighted by a magnificent innings of 160 off 150 balls by former New Zealand Test batsman Lou Vincent, which included 12 fours and 11 sixes. Vincent and George Cairns (60) put on 182 for the fourth wicket after the Dabbers had started badly on 24-3. Rob Woolley bowled manfully to return 4-91, but all the other bowlers were mauled. Hyde had reached a modest 141-3 in reply off 34 overs and were way behind the clock when rain ended play, Nantwich having to settle for 14 points to Hyde's seven.See the full content of this document
