TWO days before Christmas, Dafydd Owen was told he was going to die. He had prostate cancer,one of the most common cancers among men and yet one about which little is known. He had been prepared for bad news when he saw the specialist at Ysbyty Gwynedd in December 2002,as a blood test had already indicated the disease. There was the possibility this was a rogue result,but even so, Dafydd,from Llanbedrog,had done his homework and knew there were ways of treating the disease.

His sister by his side,he protested to the doctor, whoa greed it could be treated -but not in Dafydd's case.
