LIFEBOAT volunteers went to the rescue of four people cut off after the tide surrounded the breakwater at Rhos-on-Sea yesterday.

The crew from Llandudno inshore lifeboat then launched from Rhos and plucked a man and woman in their 20s from the water, as well as a man and a teenage girl clinging to rocks. RNLI spokesman Alan Sharpe said it was "a potentially serious situation."
