Summary
METRO Mayors and flying kites may have some unfortunate connotations, but it would be interesting to see what would happen with things like the Wirral Kite Festival, or the Clatterbridge Biker's Egg Run I wrote about recently, if there was an elected Mayor for Merseyside focusing people on maximising the region's tourism potential.
Now in its ninth year, this week's event was reported as attracting more than 10,000 people with, I suspect, very little marketing or support from the other Merseyside Boroughs.See the full content of this document
