YOUR article, Daily Post, August 3, raises some interesting issues. The city treasurer's report was setting the Council's financial position in the context of the national picture and saying how we had, prudently, prepared for the future. Hence the 15m working balances that the council now has and our ability to help the PCT with Swine Flu problems.
It also said that the national and international situation was so difficult and uncertain, that the council should plan for major reductions in government support.
