Summary
WALES is increasingly becoming a small business economy and therefore the right environment needs to be adopted to make the Welsh economy grow. In order to grow it requires innovative thinking by government and banks alike. There is no lack of innovation within Welsh businesses but there is certainly a lack of capital to ensure that innovation is exploited and converted to business success.
Although Wales is feeling the consequences of a global economic downturn it doesn't mean that the solutions have to be global in their nature. The Assembly Government's recent announcement that economic policy will now focus on developing indigenous businesses rather than focussing on inward investment is very welcome, but the vision of growing that business base must be supported by banks and other financiers.See the full content of this document
