LOOKING like an alien from another world, this red gunard is not usually the kind of creature likely to turn up on a fishmonger's slab. Like scores of other fish species off the Welsh coast, it remains hidden to all but a few scuba divers and the occasional fisherman who drags one up in his nets. There are estimated 300-350 species in the seas off Wales, some rarely seen.
