YOU wouldn't bet against the success of any movement supported by Nelson Mandela. The founder of South Africa's Rainbow Nation has added his voice to a campaign which is already having an effect on the buying habits of UK shoppers. More than 100 products on our supermarket shelves,from coffee and chocolate to fruit and sugar,now carry the Fairtrade mark, a badge of approval by a charity that seeks greater equity in international trade by offering better conditions to farmers and workers in developing countries.

Now,for the first time, there's also a wine on the list. Thandi comes from a village called Lebanon in the Cape where a project was set up in 1995 to benefit the workers by growing and selling wine.
