WREXHAM are to appeal against the red card dismissal of defender Sam Williamson during Tuesday's Setanta Shield game with Southport.

The on-loan Manchester City full-back was sent off by Lancashire referee Jeremy Simpson following a mistimed tackle on opponent Mark Duffy and followed Steve Evans into an early exit, the centre-back having already been shown the red card for a professional foul on Southport's two-goal hero Steve Daly.
