THE crisis highlighted in the report of the Pensions Commission is almost entirely attributable to Gordon Brown's raid on pension funds, one of his first acts after he became Chancellor in 1997.

To date, this government has taken almost pounds 40 billion out of people's pensions, destroying confidence in the industry and contributing to the continuing depression of the British stock market.
